    How to Get There?


      The RheingauLinie and IC trains of the Deutsche Bahn links Eltville, Assmanshausen, Kaub, St. Goarhausen and Braubach with Koblenz, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt am Main main train stations. Trains are running on a hourly basis.

      From direction Frankfurt take the A66 to Wiesbaden, then Federal road B42, Eltville am Rhein. From the direction of Koblenz on the right side of the Rhine B42 to St. Goarshausen follow the signage in the direction Eltville.

      The international airport is only 40min by car ride away, simply take the A3 and A66 to Wiesbaden. Turn on to the B42 to Eltville and follow the signage to the city center.

    Within the Rheingau area you will find a magical mixture of beauty and legend, steep fields of wine, famous medieval castles and many of the world´s most superior wines are created here.

    The region of Rheingau is one long hillside topped by the thick forests of the Taunus Hills to the north and bordered by the Rhine river to the south. The southern-facing exposure, condensation from the river, large amount of clay in the soil, and the Mediterranean-type climate combine to produce densely rich flavors and heavy masculine wines.

    The region has a lot to offer besides a breathtaking landscape and beautiful wine.     The roman castle Saalburg - a trip into Roman times. In this museum, you travel 2,000 years back in time. The castle belongs to the UNESCO World heritage and is part of the "Limes" which was the border between the Roman Empire and the area of german clans. There's a 2.4 km long round trip around the castle where the visitors learn all about the archeological relicts. Inside one finds a couple of buildings from the former castle.     The Rüdesheimer "way of life in Rheinkultur" relax with cultural highlights such as the Rheingau Music Festival, feast through the wineries during the Rheingau "Schlemmerwochen" (gourmet weeks), experience one of the numerous wine festivals, visit the famous fire work "Rhine in flames", the magic bike or the Christmas market of the Nations in the old town.
