      Brandenburg has a dense network of regional express and regional rail lines that reach Berlin mostly hourly or every two hours. The regional-express 1 (RE1) links Fürstenwalde with Berlin or Frankfurt an der Oder and you are in only 40 minutes in the city.

    Find paths around Fürstenwalde, whether along the Spree, in forests and grasslands nature, the Scharmützelsee or the Storkower Lake. The city is an ideal starting point for long hikes and nature explorations.

    Fürstenwalde is the largest city in the district of Oder-Spree, in Brandenburg, Germany. It is an important administrative and commercial center. The town was founded in the 13th century and back then used to be an important hub between Berlin and Poland. There are three cities of Cathedrals in Brandenburg and Fürstenwalde is one of them. This fact is taken into account with the official title of Cathedral City. The Cathedral St. Marien, the landmark of the city. Visit the rebuilt opens elected of the Bishops of Lubusz.     Interested in a marvellous stroll through the environment - here is the ultimate tip: "Brevity is the soul of wit" the distance is only 14 KM. Start your hike at the train station, follow the road through the pedestrian - and cyclist tunnel towards Fürstenwalde North. Continue on Trebuser Straße till you reach Hegelstraße. Here you walk past the only Catholic high school in the State of Brandenburg. Turn left here and after about 500m you will reach Vogelweg (birds way), continue on this street and you will reach the crossing. The Amselweg (blackbird way) leads straight to the "Pfälzer Wiesen" (Palatine meadows), if you turn left here, you get to the beautifully located Trebuser Lake.

    The excellent spot to take a rest, refresh yourself in the lake, take a swim or give your busy mind a break while fishing. Continue along the signposted hiking trail on the South shore of Lake till you reach Trebus. Back on the north shore of the Lake, continue straight on at the Amselweg to its confluence with Birkenweg (birch way). The Birkenweg and the Schellingstraße (road) will lead you through the settlement area up to the Hegelstraße and walk along the Trebuser Straße back to the train station.
