The famous glass maker village Spiegelau is located in the heart of the Bavarian Forest, directly on the border to the first German National Park - the Bavarian Forest National Park.

Mentioned for the first time was Spiegelau in 1521 and since then looks back on an eventful history. Spiegelau became famous through his deep connection to the production of glass. The old glass furnaces are now gone, but originated an illustrious art scene, which has adopted with creative ideas and at the highest level to the glass art.

Spiegelau lies directly on the Bavarian Forest National Park. The wild romantic Steinklamm (gorge) in Spiegelau is a natural jewel and an absolute must for nature lovers! The roaring water of the "Großen Ohe", the moss-covered stones, the strudel holes ground of and the fascination of a deep canyon offer the visitor an enchanting spectacle of nature. Visitors can walk through Steinklamm in three different ways: Wanderlinie Echtes Springkraut, (hiking line real balsam), large circuit trail Steinforelle (stone trout), smaller circuit Marienkäfer (Ladybug). Plant lovers find here a unique flora with rare copies. The trail is accessible from May to October but please be aware that robust footwear is required!
