Starting in Rostock central station you take the Regional-Express (RE) to Waren (Müritz). From there it's just a few minutes walking to the central bus station Müritz, from where you take the bus 026b (in direction Klockow, Groß Dratow) to Federow, Kargow.
From Rostock you take the A19 in direction to Berlin and leave the motorway at Röbel/ Müritz or Waren (Müritz) over the federal highway B 198/ B 192. From the highway a system of signs lead you to each entrance of the National Park.

Müritz is commonly known as the land of thousand lakes. There are well over 100 lakes in this park and each of them has its own character. The region between Berlin and Rostock is home to a wide range of fish species as well as waterfowl, including ospreys, white tailed eagles and cranes.
The national park has a large network of bicycle and hiking trails, which are complemented by viewing towers, boardwalks and nature discovery trails. One of the biggest and most famous observation tower is the "Käflingsbergturm" with a hight of 55m.

Müritzeum- the NatureExperienceCenter in Waren (Müritz). It has the largest fresh water aquarium in Germany. It is a center for experiencing nature, environmental education and natural science.
Visit the beautiful city Waren, which has a lot to offer. There is not only the Müritzeum, but also many churchs and historical buildings. A specialty are the "Draisinentours" (hand car tours), which takes you to varied landscapes, including lakes, forests, sleepy villages and wide meadows.
