    How to Get There?

      The Regio-S-Bahn in Lower Saxony Bremen reaches the intercity train station in Bad Zwischenahn on a a daily basis (IC, NWB, RE). Trains are running regularly from Bremen, Wilhelmshaven or Oldenburg to Bad Zwischenahn. More Information here www.regiosbahn.de.

      From Bremen leave the A1 at interchange Ahlhorner Heide and there along the A29 direction Wilhelmshaven/ Emden/Leer. In Oldenburg, switch on the A28 motorway in the direction of Emden/Leer. Take the exit no. 9 "Neuenkruge" or no. 8 "Zwischenahner Meer" and come directly to Bad Zwischenahn.

    Bad Zwischenahr is surrounded by an enchanting landscape, which stretches around the "Bad Zwischenahner Meer", no wonder that it´s known as the Pearl of the Ammerland.

    Bad Zwischenahn is a perfect place to start your holidays in Lower Saxony - it´s a flowering paradise on the third largest lake in Lower Saxony, the "Zwischenahner Meer" (lake). In the midst of the Ammerland are around 380 km well-signposted hiking and cycling trails which are leading through the bog, pass along parkland on the Zwischenahner Meer, nurseries and landscaped private gardens.

    Around the Bad Zwischenahner Meer stretches a wonderful landscape and therefore you will find everything a naturelovers heart desires - a determine Moor, Heath, forest and meadows, cultivated parks with mighty trees and old stone farmhouses. Additional bloom numerous rhododendrons in the parks in and around Bad Zwischenahn in the period from May to June and create a colorful spectacle. Not for nothing, the rhododendron is also considered landmarks of the Ammerland. 

    Local Speciality: Bad Zwischenahn is not only famous for its health offerings or its spa facilities, it is also known for its delicious culinary specialities like the "Smoortaal" (eel) or the ham, which are offered in traditional restaurants of the city.

    Sightseeing

    Countless shops, boutiques and souvenir shops with typical Ammerland gifts line the busy streets and shopping arcades in Bad Zwischenahn. The town offers everything you could want for “seeing and being seen”. Restaurants and outdoor cafés make shopping – and above all the breaks in between –a special pleasure. The range of entertainment available in Bad Zwischenahn is also varied. Classical concerts, exhibitions, talks, guided tours and excursions are fixed features of the leisure program.

    Nature exploring

    The Wadden Sea National Park of Lower Saxony is the second largest national park in Germany. It belongs to the UNESCO world natural heritage. The coast and islands have especially great importance as a recreation center and natural experience space. A specialty in this national park are the mudflat hiking tours. In a ships excursion you can get to know seals, fish and other aquatic inhabitants. Up to 4.000 animal and plant species are specialized in the unusually rich of food tideland habitat.

    Visit Bremen and it´s most famous monumets the "Town musicians of Bremen": a statue in front of the town-hall shows the donkey, the dog, the cat and the cock, based on a fairytale of Brothers Grimm. It's said that touching the front hooves of the donkey will make wishes come true - this is the reason why the hooves are shining.
