    How to Get There?

      You can approach the central station in Koblenz via the Deutsche Bahn, but you can also choose other evidence on the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, such as Bingen or Rüdesheim am Rhein, both central stations are located directly next to the Valley.

      At the Bahnhofplatz 7 in Koblenz you can start you tour through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. It is located right next to the main train station in Koblenz, which you can approach trough the Römerstraße or the Karthäuserstraße. There is a underground parking right at the main train station.

    Why Go There?

    The Upper Middle Rhine Valley is a cultural landscape on the Middle Rhine, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2002. The uniqueness of this cultural landscape is of exceptional cultural richness.

    The Valley area stretches from Bingen to Koblenz and has a lenght of 67 kilometers, also called "Tal der Loreley". The special apperance of the Upper Middle Rhine valley owes on the one hand the natural shape of the river landscape and on the other hand the design made by the people. Since two millennia, it's one of the main transport routes for cultural exchange in between Europe. In this area are the most castles worldwide. A lot of tourist from all over the world are coming to see its beauty. you can enjoy a lot around this area, for example romantic cafés and restaurants in a medieval style, Fairy-tale castles and fine wine.

    Hiking

    Hiking on the Rheinsteig is very famous around this area. The 320 kilometer long hiking path is very demanding. Climbing up and down hills to forests, vineyards and spectacular views.You can find new surprises behinend every corner.

    Wine tasting

    The area of Upper Middle Rhine Valley is very famous for their wine growing. This area represents a particular beautiful part of Germany, which offers a picturesque backdrop labor-intensive viticulture, which is operated weighing on steep slopes. You have to try one of these wines from the menu.

    Events

    Along the most beautiful sections of the Rhine, there is a firework spectacle called "Rhine in Flames", which takes place annually between May and September. You can enjoy a romantic experience for the whole family, surrounded by magical fire pictures in the sky.

    The "Freilichtbühne Loreley" is an event location, where a variety of events such as festivals or concerts take place. This is not an usual place it is connected to the German history and has its own part in it. Today is has a variable capacity up to 18.000 visitors and a lot of famous artists.
