    How to Get There?

      Deutsche Bahn trains like (RB, RE) are reaching Süderbrarup train station on a regular basis. From here take the bus 1624 to Kappeln ZOB (central train station) - its only a 15min ride.

      Coming from south, take the Highway A7, exit with direction Schleswig and continue on B201 the motorway will take you straight to Kappeln. Its only a 30 min ride from Schleswig. If you are coming from the north take the B199. The motorway connects Flensburg with Kappeln and the ride takes only 30min

    Adventures

    In the Schlei, near the Kappelner Brücke (bridge), is the only still functioning Heringszaun (herring fence) located throughout Europe. It dates from the 15th century and is an amazingly simple fishing equipment. Herring swim in the spring from the Baltic Sea to their spawning waters in the Schlei every year and many then advised in the cage-like Lichen fence, at whose end is a catchall.

    Sightseeing

    The mill "Amanda" was built in 1888 with one in addition to operational sawmill, construction costs amounted to a total of 80,000 Gold marks. In 1976 the town Kappeln acquired the mill and the sawmill and began 1977 with the reconstruction of the mill and extensive renovations "Amanda" could be settled on the tourist information Office and the civil ceremony room of the town Kappeln in the mill. During the opening hours of the tourist office, the mill "Amanda" can be visited free of charge.

    Nature exploring

    The Natur park Schlei is the sixth and most northerly nature park in Schleswig-Holstein and only a 40min car ride away. With its establishment, the Schlei region shows their will to actively promote of sustainable regional development.
