Emden is perfectly connected by rail to Bremen and Oldenburg.
The town is easily and quickly reached via the A31, which connects with the A28 from Oldenburg and Bremen. North from Emden runs the B70/ B210, which connects the city with other Frisian towns and the coast.
Several times a day the EMS runs harbour cruises from Emden to the Frisian Islands and back. The cruises are starting from Delftreppe steps.

Friends of culture come at the "Kunsthalle" Art Gallery by Henri Nannen (founder of the STERN), the "Ostfriesisches Landmuseum" (East Frisian National Museum), the Johannes a Lasco library and museum ships at their own expense. Several times a year, the museum closes it´s doors for a week while exhibitions are changed.
Not interested in art? Discover the city from the water side! On the numerous canals, visitors can easily explore the city in a special way by canoe or pedal boat ride. The tourist offices give tips and have information on all canal tours as well as boat and bike hire.
Tipp (especially all pranksters): Don´t miss "Dat Otto Huus" in the home town of the eponymous comedian.

Get a moving insight into part of recent history - visit the Bunkermuseum at Holzsägerstraße (www.bunkermuseum.de). A labyrinth of WWII civilian air shelters which includes testimonies from those who sheltered there.
Several times a day harbor cruises are run by the EMS from early April till late October from the Delftreppe steps in the harbour. The company also runs services to the East Frisian Islands of Borkum as well as the North Frisian Island of Helgoland. www.ag-ems.de
