Emden can be easily reached from all German train stations. Emden train station is located directly at the ferry port of Emden. From there, it continues with the ferry or catamaran.
You can reach Emden Außenhafen (Emden outer harbour) via the A31. Borkum is no car-free island. Guests, who do not want to take their car to the island (please reserve a place on the ferry), find numerous ample chargeable parking.
With the East Frisian air transport GmbH (OLT), you fly in 15 minutes from airfield in Emden (directly on the A31) to Borkum.

Have a break at one of the "Milchbuden" direct at the beach – they are unique throughout Germany. Every spring they are situated and by the end of October, they disappear in the winter camp. Enyoy a cup of coffee, refreshing drinks and ice cream or the different sweet milk desserts like 'Milchreis" (milk rice) or quark with fruits.
The Nordsee Kletterpark Borkum (north sea climbing park) is located behind the 'Kulturinsel' and just a few steps from the beach and from the Centre of Borkums. The climbing season starts at the end of March (depending on the weather).
The 'Gezeitenland' is a health spa directly at the beach. It looks like an ocean liner and is open all year round. Relax in the sauna and enjoy the panoramic view over the sea – it is fantastic! Childs love the swimming pool area with a giant slide (75 metres). The 'Gezeitenland' is a good mix of wellness, relaxation and action.
A topic of the year (end of August) is the Borkum Kite Festival (Drachenfest Borkum) with numerous impressive stunt kites. Every year thousands of visitors on the North Beach and the promenade, admire the traditional spectacle. Highlight of the weekend is a colourful firework.
