    There is so much to discover in the region surrounding the Bodensee- like bigger cities with a bustling atmosphere, or quaint little winemaking villages. Highly recommended is a visit to Konstanz, which is the largest town in this region. It is a city deeply rooted in history with many historically meaningful buildings. It is definitely worth the trip to do some quality sightseeing here.

    Around the Bodensee area you can find a museum with reconstructions of a stilt house colony. Since 2011, the stilt houses have been on the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. In four of these villages you can see how farmers, fishers and merchants once lived at the Bodensee.


    Take a trip back in time and visit the castle ruins at Hohentwiel. It is an exciting destination for both children and adults. From here you can enjoy an amazing view over the landscape. The Hohentwiel is actually the highest volcanic mountain in this region. No need to worry- it's extinct!

    Nature exploring

    Visit the island Mainau, also known as "flower island". It got its nickname due to the mediterranean, subtropical and tropical vegetation. Here they offer different types of guided tours focusing mainly on botanical, historical and culinary themes. It is a memorable experience for everyone.
