Eberswalde is accessible from all over Germany. From the train station you can take the bus line 865, which leads you directly to the Zoo.
Eberswalde Zoo is accessible via the A11 motorway exit 'Finowfurt'. Follow the signposts to Eberswalde and Eberswalde Zoo.
Both airports, Tegel and Schönefeld in Berlin are located about an hour ride by car away from the Eberswalde Zoo.

The Eberswalde Zoo offers in addition to the native wildlife living here; exotics such as lions, tigers, parrots, camels, free-roaming ape groups, kangaroos and many more.
Before the wall came down, the Eberswalde Zoo was a small park with native animals. After political changes in Germany, it developed into a respected national and international zoo. It is located on an area of 13 hectares in the nature reserve Nonnenfließ / Schwärztal, about 50 km from Berlin. Furthermore, the Zoo is actively involved in the conservation of protected species and, therefore, counteracts its eradication.
The Zoo has a family garden, which offers recreation, with playing areas for the little ones. It has the biggest pocket-watch in the world and also an education establishment the "Zoo School" (Zooschule), which takes the young visitors closer to a conscious relationship to nature.
The prices for the entry are from €3,50- €9,- and there are family cards also available (status 2014). Due to its location you have a lot of possibilities of things to do close by.

45 minutes away from the Eberswalde Zoo is the Memorial and Museum 'Sachsenhausen'. It was once a former concentration camp during the Second World War. Between 1936-45, more than 200,000 people were imprisoned in Sachsenhausen. Today it's a museum with some original camp buildings and exhibitions.
