Since 2000, the Eberswalde Zoo carries the title of "Best Little Zoo in Germany". There are about 1400 animals from five continents in 150 forms. Don't miss to see the Zoo in a very familiar atmosphere.

The Eberswalde Zoo offers in addition to the native wildlife living here; exotics such as lions, tigers, parrots, camels, free-roaming ape groups, kangaroos and many more.

Before the wall came down, the Eberswalde Zoo was a small park with native animals. After political changes in Germany, it developed into a respected national and international zoo. It is located on an area of 13 hectares in the nature reserve Nonnenfließ / Schwärztal, about 50 km from Berlin. Furthermore, the Zoo is actively involved in the conservation of protected species and, therefore, counteracts its eradication.

The Zoo has a family garden, which offers recreation, with playing areas for the little ones. It has the biggest pocket-watch in the world and also an education establishment the "Zoo School" (Zooschule), which takes the young visitors closer to a conscious relationship to nature.

The prices for the entry are from €3,50- €9,- and there are family cards also available (status 2014). Due to its location you have a lot of possibilities of things to do close by.
