The international Christmas market Essen is one of the largest and most beautiful Christmas markets in the Ruhr area. The whole city shines in festive gloss and excited visitors from close and far.
At the same time with the Christmas market, which stretches through the entire Centre of Essen, the nationwide unique "Essener Lichtwochen" (light weeks) take place. Huge topic images by alternating host countries light up the city. Spread over the downtown attract 250 booths with gifts and treats from around the world.

The privat brewery Jacob Stauder is a brewery in Essen-Altenessen. Visits including tasting of beer specialities are held Monday to Thursday at 2 p.m. The participation fee is €10,00 per person (08/2013).
