    How to Get There?


      There are many connections to all major German and European cities to and from Dresden main trainstation. The city is also connected to international networks like IC, ICE and EC. The market not far at all - only 15minutes on foot or take the tram line 3 to `Pirnaischer Platz`.

      The airport not even 20 minutes away from Dresdens city center by car or cab. But you can also catch the the S-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof Dresden from the basement of the airport (about 20 minutes).

    The Dresden Christmas Market is one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany. Experience the bustling marketplace and traditional Saxon treats of the holiday season in the heart of the baroque city of Dresden

    The beautiful city on the Elbe river and it´s wonderful Christmas Market attract annualy approximately 2.5 million visitors during christmas time. The name "Striezelmarkt" derives from the Dresdner Stollen, which is a traditional saxon christmas treat and called Strutzel or Striezel in Middle High German.

    Focal point of the market is probably the world's largest at 14.62 metres Erzgebirge step pyramid. Small stalls all over the market offer traditional manufactured goods from the region as well as the most tasteful mulled wine and delicious food. There is a lot to discover on the christmas market, specially for Families with children. Every evening Santa Claus opens a door on a giant the advent calendar for the children. Special attractions for the little ones are also the fairytale forest with the fairy tale railway, carousel and the historic Ferris wheel.

    Dresden has a beautiful old town with many historically valuable buildings, even the shopping is excellent. The greatest concentration of stores and shops situated in the city center, the northern Prague road and the old market.
