    Why Go There?

    Between late November and Christmas

Around the end of November of every year the traditional, colorful and cultural Bruchsal Christmas market opens to the public on Otto-Oppenheimer-Platz.

The entire Bruchsal pedestrian area glows with festive lights, and even from afar you can smell the enticing aromas of the market luring you in. Many booths with beautiful little trinkets like handmade candles, ceramics, wood carvings, leather goods, ornaments and gingerbread invite you to open your wallets in exchange for some Christmas cheer.

Many artisans allow visitors to look "over their shoulders," allowing guests to experience the intricacies involved in creating different handicrafts. A diverse cultural programme rounds off the whole experience.

Special highlight: Visit the "Castle Christmas" in the Bruchsaler Baroque castle. On certain dates in December, they offer themed guided castle tours through the illuminated castle, fire and light magic, arts and crafts and many culinary delights.
