Fred Rai Western City

A Western Theme Park For The Family

One of the most unique theme parks in Germany is Fred Rai Western City. Located close to Augsburg and open from Mid April until Early October, the park is ideal for the whole family especially if you love westerns.

Established more than 35 years ago, the Western City is the result of Fred Rai’s dream of being a cowboy. There are campfires, horses, cowboys and much more at this super attraction. You can see how to ride like a cowboy at the centre for riding. If you want to take part in some of the more unusual aspects of the western lifestyle, when you enter the park you get a ticket on which is recorded your success at some of the western disciplines.

Shows, Archery And Knife Throwing

A trip to the Fred Rai Western City gives you a host of shows where you can see gunfights, the cavalry and the Buffalo Bill show. Demonstrations about the kinds of weapons that were used and how horse riding is an art are combined with special activities like knife throwing by trappers and an Indian camp where you can see the skills of the bow and arrow.

There is a flag parade, a train robbery and the many museum exhibits show you exactly what life was like in the real wild west.

Festivals At Fred Rai Western City

The Karl May Festival is an annual event at the Western City so if you want to experience this event you need to book in advance as it is so popular that it is quickly sold out. There are many movies (Westerns of course) to see at the theatre and you can learn such a lot about the native American Indian way of life as well.

Another World At Western City

Try a train ride and see the amazing alpacas that are part of the experience at Western City. These beautiful animals are the ideal backdrop for a photo opportunity that will create a wonderful memory of your day out.

At the Longhorn saloon you can try an authentic western drink or choose a soft drink and enjoy a variety of Western dishes including Mexican food. The Trapper Inn serves a hearty breakfast and there is a playground to occupy the kids while you finish eating.

Enjoy a unique experience at Fred Rai Western City with interesting experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in Germany.
