The Caputh Palace

Built in 1662, the Caputh Palace was presented to Dorothea of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg by her husband Frederick William Of Brandenburg. The Tile Hall in the palace contains some 7,500 pieces of stunning Delftware and the park around the palace was designed and built by Peter Joseph Lenne. This is the only preserved early Baroque style palace in the area near to Potsdam. The King occasionally used it as a hunting lodge.

The River And Lake

The small village of Caputh is an ideal destination for anyone who wants to see nature and enjoy the beautiful scenery around the lake. The River Havel arrives into the Schwielowsee from the nearby city of Potsdam and around its shores there are numerous camping sites and hiking trails to enjoy. If you time your trip to coincide with the Summer Ferry Festival you can watch the National and International Water Skiing events which take place here every year.
